==Geography== Waupun is located at {{coord|43|37|54|N|88|44|9|W|type:city}} (43.631577, β88.735835).<ref name="GR1">{{cite web|url=https://www.census.gov/geographies/reference-files/time-series/geo/gazetteer-files.html|publisher=[[United States Census Bureau]]|access-date=2011-04-23|date=2011-02-12|title=US Gazetteer files: 2010, 2000, and 1990}}</ref> According to the [[United States Census Bureau]], the city has a total area of {{convert|4.68|sqmi|sqkm|2}}, of which, {{convert|4.62|sqmi|sqkm|2}} is land and {{convert|0.06|sqmi|sqkm|2}} is water.<ref name="gaz2020">{{cite web|title=2020 Gazetteer Files |url=https://www.census.gov/geographies/reference-files/time-series/geo/gazetteer-files.2020.html |website=census.gov |publisher=U.S. Census Bureau |access-date=12 October 2022}}</ref> The relief of the city is moderate, ranging from {{convert|870|ft|m}} at the Rock River, to its highest elevation of {{convert|941|ft|m}} above sea level. Waupun lies near the edge of the [[Horicon Marsh]], the largest cattail marsh in the United States, and is the principal access point to wildlife viewing for the Horicon Wildlife Refuges. The Fond du Lac County Park, on the edge of Waupun, has preserved a remnant stand of old-growth southern mesic forest, which once covered over {{convert|3|e6acre|km2}} of Southern Wisconsin. The Fond du Lac County Park also provides camping.
