===Governor of Guanajuato=== In 1991, after serving in the [[Congress of the Union|Chamber of Deputies]], Fox sought the [[Governor of Guanajuato|governorship in Guanajuato]], but lost the disputed election to Ramón Aguirre Velázquez of the [[Institutional Revolutionary Party|PRI]].
