A week later, NBC announced that Brokaw would serve as host of ''Meet the Press'' on an interim basis. He was succeeded by [[David Gregory (journalist)|David Gregory]] in December 2008. Brokaw serves on the board of directors of the [[Council on Foreign Relations]], the [[Committee to Protect Journalists]], the [[International Rescue Committee]], and the [[Mayo Clinic]].
