== Religion ==
There is very little data but it is assumed that as with other Mediterranean peoples, the religion was polytheistic. It is believed that Tartessians worshiped the goddess [[Astarte]] or Potnia and the masculine divinity Baal or [[Melkart]], as a result of the Phoenician acculturation. Sanctuaries inspired by Phoenician architecture have been found in the deposit of [[Castulo]] ([[Linares, Jaén]]) and in the vicinity of [[Carmona, Spain|Carmona]].
