SRAM is also used in personal computers, workstations, routers and peripheral equipment: CPU [[register file]]s, internal [[CPU cache]]s, internal [[GPU cache]]s and external [[Burst mode (computing)|burst mode]] SRAM caches, [[hard disk]] buffers, [[router (computing)|router]] buffers, etc. [[LCD screen]]s and [[Computer printer|printer]]s also normally employ SRAM to hold the image displayed (or to be printed). LCDs can have SRAM in their LCD controllers. SRAM was used for the main memory of many early personal computers such as the [[ZX80]], [[TRS-80 Model 100]], and [[VIC-20]].
