The [[population density]] was {{convert|1211.2|PD/sqmi|PD/km2|1}}. There were 977 housing units at an average density of {{convert|781.6|/sqmi|/km2|1}}. The racial makeup of the city was 86.0% [[White (U.S. Census)|White]], 1.0% [[African American (U.S. Census)|African American]], 1.9% [[Native American (U.S. Census)|Native American]], 0.6% [[Asian (U.S. Census)|Asian]], 7.7% from [[Race (U.S. Census)|other races]], and 2.8% from two or more races. [[Hispanic (U.S. Census)|Hispanic]] or [[Latino (U.S. Census)|Latino]] of any race were 11.8% of the population.

There were 740 households, of which 20.3% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 33.2% were [[Marriage|married couples]] living together, 10.1% had a female householder with no husband present, 3.9% had a male householder with no wife present, and 52.7% were non-families. 44.5% of all households were made up of individuals, and 16.1% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 1.99 and the average family size was 2.79.

The median age in the city was 48.8 years. 19% of residents were under the age of 18; 8.5% were between the ages of 18 and 24; 18% were from 25 to 44; 30.4% were from 45 to 64; and 24.2% were 65 years of age or older. The gender makeup of the city was 48.9% male and 51.1% female.

The city has a notable Ukrainian population as well, with a church, along with a few stores in its main core selling various Ukrainian, Russian, and other Eastern European products.
