In May 2019, Sleater-Kinney released a new song, "Hurry on Home" along with a lyric video. This served as the lead single for ''[[The Center Won't Hold]]'', released in August 2019. 
During the making of the album, Tucker and Brownstein made it clear to Weiss that she would no longer be a creative equal in the band and would just serve as the band's drummer. On January 19, 2024, their eleventh studio album, ''[[Little Rope]]'', produced by [[John Congleton]], was released on [[Loma Vista Recordings]].
