==Government and politics== [[Image:Shaker Heights City Hall.jpg|thumb|Shaker Heights City Hall]] The Shaker Heights City Charter was adopted in 1931 and revised in 1974, 1986, and 1999. This [[municipal charter|charter]] provides for a [[mayor]] and seven members of a [[city council]], elected on an [[at-large]], non-partisan basis. The current mayor of Shaker Heights is David Weiss.
