Genetic mutations are rare causes of certain retinopathies and are usually [[X-linked]] including ''NDP'' family of genes causing [[Norrie disease]], [[Familial exudative vitreoretinopathy|FEVR]], and [[Coats' disease|Coats disease]] among others.
