Under the 2010 Constitution, Kenya is divided into 47 [[Counties of Kenya|counties]] (including the Cities of [[Nairobi]] and [[Mombasa]]), each comprising a whole number of Parliamentary [[Constituencies of Kenya|constituencies]]. There are provisions for additional Assembly members to be appointed to improve the gender balance and to represent special groups such as persons with disabilities and youth.
