The county contains the [[Drainage divide|watershed]] between the [[River Severn]] and [[The Wash]], and several important rivers have their sources in the north-west of the county, including the [[River Nene]], which flows north-eastwards to The Wash, and the [[River Avon, Warwickshire|Warwickshire Avon]], which flows south-west to the Severn.
