==Drinking water uses== The first water treatment facility in the City of Austin, the [[Green Water Treatment Plant|Thomas C. Green Water Treatment Plant]], was built in 1925 to treat water from the Colorado River. The plant occupied {{convert|6|acre}} just west of the principal downtown business district.
