===West Annexe campus at Jadavpur===

On 1 January 2009, Jadavpur University took over National Instruments Limited, a former [[Public sector undertakings|PSU]] under Department of Heavy industries, [[Government of India|GOI]] on a 297-year lease.<ref name="auto1">{{Cite web|url=https://www.millenniumpost.in/kolkata/drdos-research-centre-to-be-moved-to-nil-building-soon-405381|title=DRDO's research centre to be moved to NIL building soon|first=SOUMITRA|last=NANDI|date=15 March 2020|website=millenniumpost.in}}</ref> From 2014, the campus is used as a research hub of the university and known as West Annexe campus.<ref>{{cite web|url=https://jadavpuruniversity.in/wp-content/uploads/2022/12/Annual-Report-2021-2022.pdf|title=Annual Report (April 2021-March 2022)|publisher=Jadavpur University|website=jadavpuruniversity.in}}</ref> Research institutes like [[Defence Research and Development Organisation|DRDO]] and [[Council of Scientific and Industrial Research|CSIR]] also operate from the campus.<ref>{{Cite news|url=https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/city/kolkata/jadavpur-university-to-develop-third-campus-as-research-hub/articleshow/29737002.cms|title=Jadavpur University to develop third campus as research hub|newspaper=The Times of India |date=2 February 2014}}</ref>
A portion of land and building of the campus is leased out to [[Defence Research and Development Organisation|DRDO]] for long term,<ref>{{cite news | url=https://economictimes.indiatimes.com/news/defence/portion-of-national-instruments-ltd-land-to-be-given-to-drdo/articleshow/47707913.cms | title=Portion of National Instruments Ltd land to be given to DRDO | newspaper=The Economic Times | date=11 July 2018 }}</ref> which is the 40 percent of the space. At that, the "Jagadish Chandra Bose Centre for Advanced Technology" (JCBCAT) is established by collaboration of JU and DRDO.<ref name="auto1"/>
