==Other works== [[Kuwait]]'s [[Kuwait National Assembly Building|National Assembly Building]], completed in 1982, stands on the sea front with (in Utzon's words) "haze and white light and an untidy town behind." Benefiting from an understanding of Islamic architecture, Utzon designed a building consisting of a covered square, a parliamentary chamber, a conference hall, and a mosque. Its waving roof conveys the impression of moving fabric.<ref>[http://architecture.about.com/library/blutzon-kuwait.htm "Kuwait National Assembly, 1972–82, by Jorn Utzon, 2003 Pritzker Architecture Prize Laureate"] {{Webarchive|url=https://web.archive.org/web/20110927005929/http://architecture.about.com/library/blutzon-kuwait.htm |date=27 September 2011 }}. The ground-level banking hall, naturally illuminated by skylight vaults, is connected to the upper floor by a central spiral staircase, providing maximum flexibility of space.<ref>[http://archnet.org/library/sites/one-site.jsp?site_id=510 "Bank Melli"] {{webarchive|url=https://web.archive.org/web/20120112124122/http://archnet.org/library/sites/one-site.jsp?site_id=510 |date=12 January 2012 }}, ''Arch Net''.
