[[Connecticut Route 4]] connects the town to [[Torrington, Connecticut|Torrington]] in the northwest and to [[Hartford, Connecticut|Hartford]] in the east. [[Connecticut Route 118|Route 118]] connects the town westward to [[Litchfield, Connecticut|Litchfield]] center, with a junction for the [[Connecticut Route 8|Route 8]] expressway in the western part of Harwinton. [[Connecticut Route 222|Route 222]] runs south from Harwinton to [[Thomaston, Connecticut|Thomaston]] center. [[Connecticut Route 72|Route 72]] leads south then east to the city of [[Bristol, Connecticut|Bristol]].
