In 2008, Ensslin was portrayed by [[Johanna Wokalek]] in [[Uli Edel]]'s ''[[The Baader Meinhof Complex]]'', an adaptation of the non-fiction book of the same name by [[Stefan Aust]]. Wokalek's performance in the film was rewarded with a nomination for the [[German Film Award]] 2009 and a [[Bambi (prize)|Bambi]] award as best German actress.
