== Relics and veneration == After his death his corpse was removed to the village of Thodanum (T'ordan, modern [[Doğanköy, Kemah]], near [[Erzincan]]). The only structure to survive intact after the quake was the city's statue of St. Gregory the Illuminator. Every year, they mark the anniversary of the earthquake by holding three days of celebrations in his honor.
