[[LG Electronics]] opened its purpose-built {{Convert|352000|sqft|adj=on}} North American headquarters building in Englewood Cliffs in 2018. The headquarters  previously occupied multiple buildings in the borough. Construction on the new building initially began in 2013 but was delayed for several years by lawsuits that sought to reduce its height, originally proposed to be {{convert|143|ft|adj=on}}. Environmental groups contended that the original design would exceed the borough's {{convert|35|ft|adj=on}} limit, disrupt views of the Palisades and would violate a longstanding precedent that structures erected north of the [[George Washington Bridge]] should not be visible above the [[New Jersey Palisades]].<ref>Baker, Rebecca.
