Substation #2 (Company 1) is located on Carll's Straight Path, about half of a mile south of the [[Interstate 495 (New York)|Long Island Expressway]].<ref name=":1" /> The Dix Hills Fire Department consists of approximately 150 [[Volunteer fire department|volunteer firefighters]] and [[emergency medical technician]]s who respond to over 2,500 calls for assistance each year – ranging from fires to motor vehicle accidents to medical and traumatic emergencies.<ref name=":2" />
