The Resort includes a hotel with a pool, two restaurants, and an arcade. It is a popular location for weddings and other events. The mountain is also home to Burke Mountain Academy, a premier ski academy. East Burke is home to the Kingdom Trails trail system. Mountain bikers frequent the trails in the summer and autumn, during which there are hundreds of riders at any given time riding the local trails. The town is also located just south of Lakes Willoughby and Crystal and the Mountains Hor and Pisgah around them, which attract swimmers and hikers.
