The fastest growth has been in Bloomington, as the U.S. Census Bureau conducted a special census of that city in February 2006, showing a population of 74,975, a 15.7% increase in less than six years. In 2010, there were 34,339 households, out of which 28.8% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 46.7% were [[Marriage|married couples]] living together, 9.1% had a female householder with no husband present, and 41.1% were non-families. 32.6% of all households were made up of individuals, and 9.2% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
