The [[population density]] was {{convert|1018.4|PD/sqmi|PD/km2|1}}. There were 8,007 housing units at a density of {{convert|384.8|/sqmi|/km2|1}}. The [[Race (U.S. Census)|racial makeup]] of the city was 92.4% White, 2.3% African American, 0.1% Native American, 3.1% Asian, 0.7% from other races, and 1.4% from two or more races. Hispanics or Latinos of any race were 3.4% of the population.

Of the 7,584 households, 42.9% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 65.2% were [[Marriage|married couples]] living together, 7.9% had a female householder with no husband present, 2.7% had a male householder with no wife present, and 24.2% were not families. About 20.6% of all households were made up of individuals, and 8.9% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.76 and the average family size was 3.23.

The median age in the city was 38.4 years; 30.5% of residents were under the age of 18; 4.1% were between the ages of 18 and 24; 27.3% were from 25 to 44; 25.4% were from 45 to 64; and 12.6% were 65 years of age or older. The gender makeup of the city was 48.4% male and 51.6% female.
