As of the [[census]] of [[2000]], there are 13,368 people, 5,623 households, and 3,643 families residing in the city.  The [[population density]] is 1,383.8/km<sup>2</sup> (3,584.3/mi<sup>2</sup>). There are 6,003 housing units at an average density of 621.4/km<sup>2</sup> (1,609.5/mi<sup>2</sup>). The racial makeup of the city is 82.23% [[White (U.S. Census)|White]], 12.69% [[African American (U.S. Census)|African American]], 0.26% [[Native American (U.S. Census)|Native American]], 2.09% [[Asian (U.S. Census)|Asian]], 0.03% [[Pacific Islander (U.S. Census)|Pacific Islander]], 1.12% from other races, and 1.58% from two or more races. 4.18% of the population are [[Hispanic (U.S. Census)|Hispanic]] or [[Latino (U.S. Census)|Latino]] of any race.
