(Individuals with anorexia nervosa may seek them to suppress appetite.) *[[Topiramate]] may cause anorexia as a side effect. * Other drugs may be used to intentionally cause anorexia in order to help a patient [[fasting|preoperative fasting]] prior to [[general anesthesia]].
