The 2020 census recorded a population of 7,496 in the county, with a population density of {{Pop density|7496|579.152815|sqmi|km2}}. 96.88% of the population reported being of one race. 92.89% were non-Hispanic White, 0.61% were Black, 2.48% were Hispanic, 0.25% were Native American, 0.31% were Asian, 0.03% were Native Hawaiian or Pacific Islander and 3.43% were some other race or more than one race. There were 3,585 housing units of which 3,217 were occupied.<ref name=cen2020/>
