* [[October 6]] &ndash; (2 Safar 701 AH) [[Abu Numayy I]], Arabic ruler of the [[Sharifate of Mecca|Emirate of Mecca]], abdicates and is succeeded by two of his sons, [[Rumaythah ibn Abi Numayy|Rumaythah]] and [[Humaydah ibn Abi Numayy|Humaydah]]. Abu Numayy dies two days later at the age of 69.
