* Autumn &ndash; King [[Sigurd the Crusader|Sigurd I]] sails for the [[Holy Land]] with 60 ships (with some 5,000 men) on the first stage of the [[Norwegian Crusade]] to [[Palestine (region)|Palestine]]. Now 17, he is the first European king to support the Crusaders in the [[Levant]].
