===Minimum wage===
In November 2017, County Executive James Tedesco raised the [[minimum wage]] for full-time Bergen County workers to $15 per hour gradually increasing over a 6-year period, an increase from the prevailing state minimum wage at the time of $8.44 hourly. The raise constituted the first such hike in the minimum wage paid to employees of any New Jersey county.<ref>Cowen, Richard.
