The court heard he was photographed by a member of the public holding a phone as he drove in "slowly moving" traffic. Beckham received six points on his licence, to add to the six he already had for previous speeding matters. He was also fined Β£750, and ordered to pay Β£100 in prosecution costs and a Β£75 surcharge fee.<ref>{{cite news |url=https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-48213106 |title=Beckham banned for using phone in Bentley |work=BBC News |date=9 May 2019 |access-date=9 May 2019 |archive-date=9 May 2019 |archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20190509154837/https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-48213106 |url-status=live }}</ref>
