== Transport == All settlers of the Pitcairn Islands arrived by boat or ship. Pitcairn Island [[List of countries without an airport|does not have an airport]], airstrip or seaport; the islanders rely on [[longboat]]s to ferry people and goods between visiting ships and shore through Bounty Bay.<ref name="FCO"/> Access to the rest of the shoreline is restricted by jagged rocks. It was organized by medical authorities in the [[United Kingdom]] and [[New Zealand]], and [[France|French authorities]] in [[Mangareva]] and [[Papeete]].
