Following Meir's resignation, [[Yitzhak Rabin]] became prime minister. Rabin resigned in April 1977 after it emerged that his [[Leah Rabin|wife]] maintained a dollar account in the United States (illegal at the time), which had been opened while Rabin was Israeli ambassador.
