Critics, for example Paul Krugman, note Reagan's tenure as having begun a period of increased income inequality, sometimes called the "[[Great Divergence (inequality)|Great Divergence]]". Krugman also views Reagan as having initiated the ideology of the current-day Republican Party, which he feels is led by "radicals" who seek to "undo the twentieth century" gains in income equality and unionization.<ref>{{cite book|author1=Krugman, Paul|title=The Conscience of a Liberal|date=2007|publisher=W.W.
