[[Taiwan High Speed Rail]]'s first and only HSR line opened for service on 5 January 2007, using Japanese trains with a top speed of {{convert|300|km/h|abbr=on|round=5}}. The service traverses {{convert|345|km|abbr=on}} from {{stl|Taiwan High Speed Rail|Nangang}} to {{stl|Taiwan High Speed Rail|Zuoying}} in as little as 105 minutes.
