The '''Rio Grande Council''' (#775) was formed in 1927 as the Lower Rio Grande Valley Council (#775). It changed its name in 1947 to the current name.<ref name="CSP Book" /> It covers 5 counties, including Cameron, Hidalgo, Willacy, Starr & Zapata and it serves a membership of approximately, 4,000 youth and 1,500 adult leaders in the southernmost parts of Texas.

The Rio Grande Council has two districts:

====Camps====

Campers can gain [[Scuba diving|SCUBA]] certification.

Situated on the banks of the Arroyo Colorado, it covers over {{convert|260|acre|km2}}. There are twelve campsites at Camp Perry.
