Wolf Township is in southeastern Lycoming County and is bordered by [[Plunketts Creek Township, Pennsylvania|Plunketts Creek Township]] to the north, [[Shrewsbury Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania|Shrewsbury Township]] to the northeast, the borough of [[Picture Rocks, Pennsylvania|Picture Rocks]] and [[Penn Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania|Penn Township]] to the east, [[Moreland Township, Pennsylvania|Moreland Township]] to the southeast, [[Muncy Creek Township, Pennsylvania|Muncy Creek Township]] to the southwest, [[Muncy Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania|Muncy Township]] to the west, and [[Mill Creek Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania|Mill Creek Township]] to the northwest. }}</ref> Wolf Township is {{convert|15|mi}} east of [[Williamsport, Pennsylvania|Williamsport]], the Lycoming [[county seat]], and {{convert|84|mi}} north of [[Harrisburg, Pennsylvania|Harrisburg]], the state capital. It is {{convert|50|mi}} west of [[Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania|Wilkes-Barre]].

According to the [[United States Census Bureau]], the township has a total area of {{convert|51.2|sqkm|order=flip}}, of which {{convert|50.8|sqkm|order=flip}} are land and {{convert|0.4|sqkm|order=flip|1}}, or 0.75%, are water.<ref name="CenPopGazetteer2016"/> [[Muncy Creek]], a tributary of the [[West Branch Susquehanna River]], flows through the township from northeast to southwest.
