==Geography==

Whitewright is located in eastern Grayson County with a small portion extending east into Fannin County. [[U.S. Route 69 in Texas|U.S. Route 69]] passes through the southern and western parts of the city, leading northwest {{convert|20|mi}} to [[Denison, Texas|Denison]] and southeast {{convert|33|mi}} to [[Greenville, Texas|Greenville]]. [[Texas State Highway 11]] crosses the southern part of Whitewright with US 69, leading southeast {{convert|36|mi}} to [[Commerce, Texas|Commerce]] and northwest {{convert|17|mi}} to Sherman.

According to the [[United States Census Bureau]], Whitewright has a total area of {{convert|4.8|sqkm|order=flip}}, of which {{convert|0.01|sqkm|order=flip|3}}, or 0.21%, is water.<ref name="Census 2010"/>
