White Plains is bordered to the north by the town of [[North Castle, New York|North Castle]], to the north and east by the town/village of [[Harrison, New York|Harrison]], to the south by the town/village of [[Scarsdale, New York|Scarsdale]], and to the west by the town of [[Greenburgh, New York|Greenburgh]]. The city is about {{convert|7|mi|0}} east of the [[Hudson River]] and {{convert|7|mi|0}} northwest of the [[Long Island Sound]].
