A calligram is a text or [[poem]] of a type in which the words or letters make up a shape, particularly a shape connected to the subject of the text or poem. The concept was developed by [[Guillaume Apollinaire]] in his 1918 collection ''[[Calligrammes]]''.<ref name="Nancy"/><ref name="Typedrawing"/>
