Solon has a large immigrant population. As of the [[census]]<ref name ="wwwcensusgov"/> of 2010, there were 23,348 people, 8,352 households, and 6,769 families residing in the city. The [[population density]] was {{convert|1146.8|PD/sqmi|PD/km2|1}}. There were 8,765 housing units at an average density of {{convert|430.5|/sqmi|/km2|1}}. The racial makeup of the city was 77.5% [[White (U.S. Census)|White]], 10.9% [[Asian Americans|Asian]], 0.1% [[Native American (U.S. Census)|Native American]], 9.8% [[African Americans|African American]], 0.4% from [[Race (U.S. Census)|other races]], and 1.4% from two or more races. [[Hispanic (U.S. Census)|Hispanic]] or [[Latino (U.S. Census)|Latino]] of any race were 1.5% of the population.

There were 8,352 households, of which 41.5% had children under age 18 living with them, 68.7% were [[Marriage|married couples]] living together, 9.4% had a female householder with no husband present, 2.9% had a male householder with no wife present, and 19.0% were non-families. 16.6% of all households were made up of individuals, and 7.2% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.78 and the average family size was 3.13.

The median age in the city was 43.1 years. 27.8% of residents were under 18; 5.2% were between 18 and 24; 20.3% were from 25 to 44; 34.3% were from 45 to 64; and 12.4% were 65 or older. The gender makeup of the city was 48.7% male and 51.3% female.
