He also appeared in TV plays including ''The Dark Man'', ''Misfire'' and ''The Train Set''. In 1961, he appeared in a [[Broadway theatre|Broadway]] production of [[Harold Pinter]]'s ''[[The Caretaker (play)|The Caretaker]]'' alongside [[Donald Pleasence]] and [[Alan Bates]]. Shaw replaced [[Peter Woodthorpe]], who had performed with the others on stage in London.
