Psilocybin is most commonly consumed in the form of [[psilocybin-containing mushroom]]s, such as ''[[Psilocybe]]'' species like ''[[Psilocybe cubensis]]''. It may also be prepared [[chemical synthesis|synthetically]], but outside of [[clinical research|research settings]] it is not typically used in this form. Regardless of form, psilocybin is usually taken [[oral administration|orally]].
