After a special appearance on TBN with the president of the network, [[Paul Crouch]], and his pastor, Jack Hayford, his explanation of the leather outfit being a "parody of himself" was accepted. TBN reinstated him, and ''Gospel America'' was back on the air.<ref name="Pat" />

In 2003, the Nashville [[Gospel Music Association]] recognized his gospel career by inducting him into the [[Gospel Music Hall of Fame]].
