The racial makeup of Moraga was 64.5% [[White Americans|White]], 1.3% [[African Americans|African American]], 0.2% [[Native Americans in the United States|Native American]], 18.9% [[Asian Americans|Asian]], 0.2% [[Pacific Islander Americans|Pacific Islander]], 2.5% from [[Race (United States Census)|other races]], and 12.4% from two or more races. [[Hispanic and Latino Americans|Hispanic or Latino]] of any race were 9.8% of the population. The census reported that 91.2% of the population lived in households, 8.6% lived in non-institutionalized group quarters, and 0.3% were institutionalized. There were 5,698 households, out of which 37.4% included children under the age of 18, 67.0% were married-couple households, 2.8% were [[cohabitation|cohabiting]] couple households, 20.1% had a female householder with no partner present, and 10.2% had a male householder with no partner present. 17.6% of households were one person, and 11.3% were one person aged 65 or older. The average household size was 2.7. There were 4,477 [[family (U.S. Census)|families]] (78.6% of all households). The age distribution was 21.9% under the age of 18, 15.8% aged 18 to 24, 14.8% aged 25 to 44, 27.5% aged 45 to 64, and 20.1% who were 65{{nbsp}}years of age or older. The median age was 42.9{{nbsp}}years. For every 100 females, there were 92.5 males. There were 5,932 housing units at an average density of {{convert|627.0|/mi2|/km2|disp=preunit|units |units|}}, of which 5,698 (96.1%) were occupied.
