== Climate ==
Kinmen's climate is classified as [[humid subtropical climate]] ([[Köppen climate classification|Köppen]] ''Cfa'', bordering on ''Cwa''). Among them, the annual average temperature is {{Convert|21.0|C}}, the hottest month in August is {{Convert|28.5|C}}, and the coldest month is {{Convert|12.6|C}} in January. The annual precipitation is {{Convert|1089.4|mm}}, of which August is the wettest with {{Convert|156.3|mm}}, while November is the driest with only {{Convert|23.5|mm}}.<ref name= ARI/> The extreme temperature throughout the year ranged from {{Convert|1.3|C}} on [[January 2016 East Asia cold wave|January 25, 2016]]<ref name=CWBrecordlows1/> to {{Convert|39.1|C}} on August 31, 2020.<ref name=CWBrecordhighs2/>
