==== The covenant with Abraham in the book of Genesis ====
A significant part of the [[Hebrew Bible]] or ''Tanakh'' is an account of the [[Israelites]]' relationship with religion and [[God]] from their earliest history until the building of the [[Second Temple]] ({{Circa|535 BCE}}). [[Abraham]] is hailed as the first [[Hebrews|Hebrew]] and the father of the Jewish people.
