The population density was 1,303.8 per square mile (503.7/km{{sup|2}}). There were 2,560 housing units at an average density of 605.2 per square mile (233.8/km{{sup|2}}). The racial makeup was 92.09% (5,079) [[White (U.S. Census)|white]], 0.45% (25) [[African American (U.S. Census)|black or African-American]], 0.34% (19) [[Native American (U.S. Census)|Native American]], 0.34% (19) [[Asian (U.S. Census)|Asian]], 0.0% (0) [[Pacific Islander (U.S. Census)|Pacific Islander]], 2.09% (115) from [[Race (United States Census)|other races]], and 4.68% (258) from two or more races. [[Hispanic (U.S. Census)|Hispanic]] or [[Latino (U.S. Census)|Latino]] of any race was 8.0% (468) of the population.

The racial makeup of the city was 96.7% [[White (U.S. Census)|White]], 0.1% [[African American (U.S. Census)|African American]], 0.4% [[Native American (U.S. Census)|Native American]], 0.2% [[Asian (U.S. Census)|Asian]], 1.5% from [[Race (U.S. Census)|other races]], and 1.0% from two or more races. [[Hispanic (U.S. Census)|Hispanic]] or [[Latino (U.S. Census)|Latino]] of any race were 3.11% of the population.
