==Climate== The Hartz Mountains area experiences typical south-west weather conditions. In all seasons there can be snow, chilling rains, low temperatures, strong winds, upslope fog and sudden weather changes. Climate data for the region are sourced from Keoghs Pimple, at an altitude of 831 m and operating since 1996. It is an extremely rainy climate with 252 such days per annum, though which tends to fall as light showers or drizzle, with frequent snowfalls that can occur at any time of the year. The mean afternoon relative humidity, is likewise extraordinary. {{Weather box |location = Hartz Mountain (Keoghs Pimple, 1996β2024); 831 m AMSL; 43.20Β° S, 146.77Β° E |single line = y |metric first = y |unit precipitation days = 0.2 mm |Jan record high C = 35.2 |Feb record high C = 32.6 |Mar record high C = 34.0 |Apr record high C = 24.3 |May record high C = 18.8 |Jun record high C = 14.8 |Jul record high C = 15.4 |Aug record high C = 16.6 |Sep record high C = 24.8 |Oct record high C = 26.5 |Nov record high C = 30.0 |Dec record high C = 34.0 |year record high C = |Jan high C = 17.9 |Feb high C = 17.2 |Mar high C = 14.5 |Apr high C = 11.0 |May high C = 8.5 |Jun high C = 6.9 |Jul high C = 6.0 |Aug high C = 6.6 |Sep high C = 8.6 |Oct high C = 11.0 |Nov high C = 13.8 |Dec high C = 15.1 |year high C = |Jan low C = 7.2 |Feb low C = 7.2 |Mar low C = 6.3 |Apr low C = 4.6 |May low C = 3.4 |Jun low C = 2.2 |Jul low C = 1.4 |Aug low C = 1.4 |Sep low C = 1.9 |Oct low C = 2.7 |Nov low C = 4.4 |Dec low C = 5.3 |year low C = |Jan record low C = -0.1 |Feb record low C = -0.2 |Mar record low C = -0.8 |Apr record low C = -1.8 |May record low C = -2.5 |Jun record low C = -3.0 |Jul record low C = -3.7 |Aug record low C = -4.4 |Sep record low C = -3.4 |Oct record low C = -3.4 |Nov record low C = -2.8 |Dec record low C = -1.2 |year record low C = |precipitation colour = green |Jan precipitation mm = 61.4 |Feb precipitation mm = 62.0 |Mar precipitation mm = 74.2 |Apr precipitation mm = 73.0 |May precipitation mm = 90.9 |Jun precipitation mm = 101.1 |Jul precipitation mm = 105.7 |Aug precipitation mm = 129.1 |Sep precipitation mm = 101.5 |Oct precipitation mm = 98.9 |Nov precipitation mm = 76.4 |Dec precipitation mm = 83.0 |year precipitation mm = 1038.7 |Jan precipitation days = 16.2 |Feb precipitation days = 16.3 |Mar precipitation days = 19.4 |Apr precipitation days = 20.1 |May precipitation days = 23.5 |Jun precipitation days = 22.0 |Jul precipitation days = 25.3 |Aug precipitation days = 25.3 |Sep precipitation days = 23.3 |Oct precipitation days = 22.7 |Nov precipitation days = 19.4 |Dec precipitation days = 19.7 |year precipitation days = |Jan afthumidity = 67 |Feb afthumidity = 69 |Mar afthumidity = 77 |Apr afthumidity = 84 |May afthumidity = 90 |Jun afthumidity = 91 |Jul afthumidity = 92 |Aug afthumidity = 86 |Sep afthumidity = 84 |Oct afthumidity = 79 |Nov afthumidity = 73 |Dec afthumidity = 73 |year afthumidity = |source = Australian Bureau of Meteorology }}
