===Cascade Range===

This region is located in the northeastern section of the state bordering [[Oregon]] and [[Nevada]], mostly north of the Central Valley and the Sierra Nevada mountain range. The area is centered on [[Mount Shasta]], near the [[Trinity Alps]]. Mount Shasta is a dormant volcano, but there is some evidence that it erupted in the 18th century.<ref name=firemountains/>{{rp|99}}
