== Teams ==

During the 2021 season, the FL consisted of 14 teams, 13 based in the United States and 1 in Canada. The FL divided the 14 teams into two conferences: the Can-Am Conference and the Midwest Conference. Each conference was split into two [[Division (sport)|divisions]]: the Can-Am Conference contained six teams (three per division), while the Midwest Conference had eight teams (four per division). With the addition of the [[Empire State Greys]] in the 2022–23 season, as well as the [[Brockton Rox (Frontier League)|Brockton Rox]] for the 2024 season, the league operated at 16 teams with only two divisions: East and West (eight per division).

The expansion of the two new teams starting at the 2025 season marks the league's first expansion into the deep south. The league divides its teams with two conferences with two divisions in them. The Midwest Conference features the West and Central Divisions, while the Atlaantic has the East and North division.  Each conference features nine teams, with the divisions being split unevenly with 5 and 4 team respectively.
