The contest was held on 3 March 1957 at 21:00 ([[Central European Time|CET]]) and lasted 1 hour.<ref name="Radio Times" />{{sfn|Roxburgh|2012|pp=152–156}} The event was hosted by German actress [[Anaid Iplicjian]].<ref name="ESC1957" /><ref name="throwback" />
